Cayo Las Brujas - Cayo Guillermo
Ein
weiterer wunderschöner Tag kündigte sich an aber Luis wollte zurück nach
Havanna... eine Woche in dieser Stadt wäre für mich der blanke Horror vor allem
da es noch so viel zu entdecken gibt auf Kuba! So bot ich ihm an ihn
zurückzufahren und die restliche Woche alleine zu reisen… Beim Frühstück mit
herrlicher Sicht auf die hübsche Bucht änderte sich seine Stimmung und wir
vereinbarten eine kleinere Tour als geplant zu machen und die 3 letzten Nächte
nochmals in La Habana zu verbringen…

this city would be pure horror for me, especially since there is still so much to discover in Cuba! So I offered him
to drive him back there and travel
alone the rest of the week...
At breakfast with stunning views across the bay his mood changed and we agreed to make a
smaller tour as planned and
to spend the last 3 nights again in La
Habana...

Da wir heute Morgen relativ früh dran waren, waren wir kurz nach 10 Uhr bereits wieder auf dem Weg Richtung Osten. Zuerst ging es dem Damm entlang zurück aufs Festland. Danach passierten wir Yaguajay und machten einen Abstecher ins Wildweststädtchen Florencia.
Since we were relatively early this morning, we were back on the road heading east already shortly after 10 am. First we drove along the causeway back to the mainland. Then we passed Yaguajay and made a side trip to the Wild West town of Florencia.

Im Centro Conservation de Cocodrilos in Morón machten wir einen Halt und bestaunten die Krokodile, die hier aufgezogen werden. Soviel ich weiss, gibt es keine wilden Krokodile mehr auf Kuba...
We made a stop at the Centro de Conservation Cocodrilos in Morón and marveled at the crocodiles, which are breeded here. As far as I know, there are no wild crocodiles in Cuba anymore...

Weiter ging es durch Pueblo Holandes, ein Dorf gegründet von Fidel Castros ehemaliger Lebensgefährtin Celia Sanchez. Von hier stammt das Fleisch, das die Touristen in den Cayos verzehren.
We continued through Pueblo Holandes, a village founded by fidel Castro's former partner Celia Sanchez. From here comes the meat that eat the tourists in the Cayos.

Ein weiterer Damm von ca. 50 km führte uns über Cayo Coco nach Cayo Guillermo, wo wir um 16 Uhr im Hotel Allegro ankamen. Wie auf Varadero sind die Hotels hier all inclusive... Als wir aber unser eher schlichtes Bungalow dafür direkt am Strand mit einer umwerfenden Aussicht auf eine der schönsten Küsten der Welt sahen, waren wir mehr als zufrieden und mieteten es für 2 Nächte.
Another causeway of about 50 km took us via Cayo Coco to Cayo Guillermo, where we arrived by 16 pm at the Hotel Allegro. Like in Varadero hotels are all inclusive here... But when we saw our rather simple bungalow situated directly on the beach with a dazzling view of one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world, we were more than satisfied and rented it for 2 nights.

Nachdem wir eine Weile die Kite
Surfers beobachtet und uns von dieser absoluten Schönheit hier vollgesogen
hatten, probierten wir verschiedene Drinks in den Bars aus und begaben uns
um 19:30 Uhr ins Hotelrestaurant zum Abendessen. Eine grosse Auswahl
am Buffet erwartete uns und den Fisch wie das Fleisch man auswählte wurde vor
unseren Augen zubereitet. Nach einem alten Rum in der Hemingway Bar gingen war
dann doch schon ziemlich früh schlafen.

After watching the kite surfers for a while and soaking
in this absolute beauty here,
we tried different drinks from the bars
and went for dinner to the hotel restaurant at 19:30 pm. A large selection was awaiting us at the buffet and the
fish as well as the meat we chose was prepared
before our eyes. After an old rum at the Hemingway
Bar we went to sleep quite early.
