Heute Morgen war alles wieder strahlender Sonnenschein und wir begaben uns um 9 Uhr zum Frühstück ins Buffetrestaurant. Eine Stunde später ging ich ins Yoga am Pool und war sehr enttäuscht, da es nichts anderes als eine halbe Stunde Stretching war… : (

This morning it was all pure sunshine again and we had breakfast at the buffet restaurant at 9 am. An hour later I attended the yoga class and was very disappointed as it was not much more than half an hour of stretching… : (

Cubacar, Varadero

Um 11:30 Uhr waren wir bereit für die Weiterfahrt Richtung Osten und besuchten erst einmal die Cubacar Autovermietungsservicestation um unseren Tacho und Kilometeranzeige reparieren zu lassen sowie eine Radabdeckung entfernen zu lassen, die bei jeder Kurve unangenehme Geräusche veranlasste…

At 11:30 am we were ready to continue direction east and first drove to the Cubacar rental service station to have our speedometre repaired and also one splash board removed which had caused awkward noises…

Die heutige Fahrt von ca. 300 km war zwar zeitlich aufwendig (5 Stunden) aber absolut interessant… so passierten wir viele kleine Städtchen im Kolonialstil und staunten immer wieder wie viele alte amerikanische Autos und noch mehr Pferdewagen hier fuhren!

The journey of today of about 300 km was time consuming (5 hours) but absolutely interesting… so we passed lots of little towns in colonial style and marveled again and again at all the old American cars and even more at the horse carriages!

In Caibirién tankten wir nochmals und fuhren dann den 56 km langen Damm Richtung Norden zwischen winzigen Mangroveninselchen nach Cayo Las Brujas und fanden im Hotel Villa Las Brujas endlich das karibische Paradies! Es gab also diese einfachen und menschenleeren Strände doch (im Gegensatz zu den überfüllten Stränden in Varadero) und wir dachten schon wir wären zu verwöhnt… Der kleine Ort besteht aus diesem Hotel, einem wunderschönen, langen und schmalen Strand, einer Marina und einem kleinen Flugplatz.

In Caibirién we fuelled up once more and then took the causeway of 56 km direction north between tiny mangrove islands to Cayo Las Brujas and finally found the Caribbean paradise at the Hotel Villa Las Brujas! The simple and deserted beaches (in contrast to the overfilled beaches in Varadero) did really exist and we thought already that we were too spoilt… This little place here consists of this hotel, a fantastic, long and narrow beach, a marina and a small aerodrome.

Wir bezogen unser hübsches Zimmer mit Meersicht und begaben uns danach gleich in den Jacuzzi. Das Abendessen genossen wir im Hotelrestaurant mit hervorragendem Service und einmal mehr meinem Lieblingsgericht: Hummer!

We installed ourselves in our pretty room with ocean view and went directly to relax in the jacuzzi. For dinner we went to the hotel restaurant and enjoyed an excellent service and once more my favourite dish: lobster!
